🎯 Goal
Test and improve reaction time and inhibitory control -Â the user responds to Go lights and must inhibit response to No-Go lights.
✅ 1. Define Stimuli
-
Go Light = Green
-
No-Go Light = Red
-
Optional: Add Blue as a distractor (no response)
🧠You can reverse colors for difficulty or change them mid-task.Â
✅ 2. Configuration in the FITLIGHT® App
Open the FITLIGHT® App
Go to Create New> New Advanced
For each light set the parameters, such as sensor (how light is deactivated), timeout (time each light is on), etc. The most important settings will be:
Colors (e.g., Green = Hit, Red = Don’t Hit)
Result (Success for Go Light, Fail for No-Go Light)
View here full instructions on how to program in the App.
Â
✅ 3. Task Instructions
Hit ONLY the green lights as fast as you can. If a red light appears, DO NOT touch it. Stay ready and respond quickly.
✅ 4. Run the Task
-
Start the task from the app.
-
User responds by touching the lights when they meet the Go condition.
-
The system will automatically log:Â
-
Correct Hits (Go)
-
False Alarms (No-Go)
-
Reaction Time
-
✅ 5. Post-Task Analysis
Download or review results:
-
Reaction Time averages
-
Accuracy %
-
Commission Errors (hit red)
-
Omission Errors (missed green)
🔄 Variations for Progression
-
Add movement tasks (shuffles, squats between hits)
-
Decrease light timeout (users have less time for information processing)
-
Add a dual task (e.g., solve a math problem while reacting)
-
Use sound cues (Go = beep, No-Go = buzz)
